Working as an assistant at Yallourn Kindergarten 3 yo Group. The children catching the bus to school, just across the road - the dog and cat always waited with them and then came back home. The bus driver thought it was hilarious. Roger & I would still be happily living at 22 Hazelwood Cres today if we could. Roger is from Camperdown but loved Yallourn. Neighbours: Hing - yes they liked this house too; Rissinich; Smith; Elliot

Our son, Jason, was born in 1969 while at this house. We moved to Forster in NSW when he was 12 months old. It didn't work out so we returned to Yallourn. We then moved into 10 Tarwin Grove as the Hing's had asked for our place as they liked it. Immediate Neighbours: Brown; Hocking, Eyre, Buchan

So many memories - lived there from 6 years old till I married in 1968. Mostly Helen remember the freedom we had, able to go anywhere without fear, just be home by tea time, spending all day at the pool. Mum would toss lunch over the fence. From early 1963 till end of 1965, Helen lived and worked in Canberra and friends would visit me in Yallourn and loved the town. Helen would be happy to be still living in Yallourn. Had an old stove in the kitchen and a boiler in the laundry. I looked through the photos and it brought back memories of my time in Yallourn. I remember Mrs Crane at school and spending a lot of time at the hotel as my mother worked there. Graham Kennedy doing his show at Kernot Hall and days at the swimming pool and theatre. Leslie was very young so only has vague memories of his childhood. Immediate Neighbours - Mr & Mrs Kitney at No 38 Latrobe Ave Nearby Neighbours - Mr & Mrs Fleming across the road
