This is my family. Marjorie and Mick Hender. Children - Lorraine, Ken, Ross and Helen
(me). We lived in Yallourn for about 18 years. First house was Strezlecki Road (before I was born) then we moved to 36 Railway Avenue where I grew up. We moved to Moe in November 1965.

Going through the old family photos I found the address of 35 Strezlecki Road and we must have lived there for about 10 years as there are photos of me as a toddler in the back yard so maybe I was 18mths - 2 years when we moved to Railway Avenue.

Your next door neighbours were the Grieves on the left looking at your house (from Strezlecki Rd ) and the Tormeys to the right. The Dinsdale family lived straight across the road from your house. Your house on the corner of the Angles and Railway avenue was two houses down from my Grand Parents (Frank and Catherine Barton)

Yes I remeber my family mentioning those surnames and Carol Dinsdale was a year older than me at school so new her well. I do remember the Bartons they had that little green car and their beautiful garden. My sister Lorraine was best friends with Maureen Handley, ther grand daughter, whom I used to call Mau Mau (I was only little!) The Goss family apparently lived in Strez Road as well but moved to Southway just down the road from us.
