Mary Bennett was a wonderful
Mary Bennett was a wonderful Home Economics teacher, and I think 1B Form Teacher. She married Alan Newton, who worked as a car salesman at Foster Motors. It was Mary Newton (Bennett) who told me of the typist's job at Foster Motors. I took over from I think Margaret ? She was three years higher than me. Her mother worked at the Kiosk at Yallourn Bus Stop. I am grateful to Mary Newton for instilling in me the importance of good quality food. "Never buy rubbish", as Mrs. Newton would say. Her butcher, not Wilson's, the other one, opposite the electrical shop, knew if the meat was for Mrs. Newton, it had to be the best.
