VALE VICTOR BERQUEZ
Followers of the Virtual Yallourn website will be deeply saddened by the recent passing of Victor Berquez. Victor died on the 19th March after a long and courageous battle with debilitating illness.
Victor, who commenced his studies at Yallourn High School in 1961, was a most popular identity throughout the Latrobe Valley. He was a talented sportsman whose passion for music and supreme sense of humour will long be remembered in years to come.

Anne Marie Harrington attended Yallourn High School & trained to become a registed nurse at Yallourn Hospital. She spent many years at Central Gippsland Hospital Sale, before retiring in 2010. Anne passed away 13-12-2022 RIP Anne.

1981 - Time Capsule from St John's Church 1923
This photograph shows Rev. Blair Grace, of St Aidan’s Anglican Church in Newborough, holding one of the items placed in a time capsule and buried at the St John’s Church in Yallourn in 1923.
The contents of the time capsule included a selection of documents related to the Church in that era. Among the capsule’s contents were a letter, an advertisement and various handwritten notes by the Parish Minister at that time - Rev. Dicker.
