My family (Wolff) left Yallourn in January 1966 and I really missed the Swimming Club. Although I was in the swimming team at my new school in Geelong nothing was like the Club at Yallourn....Diane Wolff

Yallourn Navy Cadets was formed early in the 1960’s and shared the Army drill hall near the briquette factory with the CMF Engineers. I believe the unit is still in existence over at Newborough....Ewen
The Country Swimming Championships were held at Mildura in 1965. The Gippsland District Swimming Association chartered two planes to fly Gippsland Swimmers to Mildura (from Essendon). The plane in the picture carried the Yallourn Team and Officials and some of the Morwell Team and Officials. The picture was taken by a Mildura Newspaper when we arrived at Mildura Airport.
