In 1948 a new fire station opened in Terminal Place. The station included 4 fully self contained flats, three trailer pumps, six bay station housing, two units and three station vehicles, there was also a billiard room and workshop.

The Fire Station, Monash Square, and Kernot Hall were the last Yallourn facilities to be removed as they were being used as Apprentice Training
annexe - they were demolished in early 1987.
