Very happy childhood. Dad did the garden, grew all our vegetables. There were great grounds to play in, trees to climb! Walls to hit a ball against and room to hit a tennis ball in the drive; also one could play in the street as there were very few cars. Yallourn was a great place. Great home to be a child - corner block so garden front and sides - no back garden, trees to climb, drive to play ball.
Air-raid shelter inside so blocked back hall during the war.
