Playing up the nearby bush a reservoir hill. We always had a dog with us. Riding bikes up and down the ant hills. Delivering the daily papers both morning and afternoon. Playing football and cricket on No 1 Oval. Watching Yallourn Footbal Club every Saturday arvo. The Briquette Factory Explosion (approx 1951). A great place to grow up in everybody knew everybody, house doors were never locked. Kids played in the streets until mothers called them for tea. We had a great neighbourhood...John

Backed onto greenbelt, the Yallourn Reservoir and pine forests over the back of the Reservoir Hill. Spent many hours building huts, catching tadpoles and generally playing in the bushland between here and the Coach Road hill (in between was a dam). Always had fun in this town. Had all the facilities too - Olympic pool, picture theatre, sporting ovals and such. Scouts, Guides, Tennis courts, Methodist Youth Fellowship and Young Anglican Fellowship - great times!...Lance
