I think it is Joan Atkinson,

I think it is Joan Atkinson, in the 2nd Row - immediately behind the Teacher's left shoulder. Immediately behind Joan's left shoulder is Margaret Briscoe. Margaret Tullis is to Joan's left. Peter Martin is 2nd from left in the front row. I think that immedaitely behind Peter Martin is Peter Jackson and beside him is Peter Lakeman. Linton Planner is behind Peter Lakeman. I think Howard Ellis is immediately above Peter L's head. Joan Vickery is the person at he extreme right of the back row. Carol Hunt is 4th form the right in the back row. It may be Muriel Kennedy behind Joan Atkinson's right shoulder.

I am pretty sure that Wendy Black is the 3rd person to Margaret Tullis' left. Barbara Ferguson is next Joan Atkinson (on Joan's right). I think Chris Vincent is the next person on Margaret Briscoe's left (same row). I think it might be John Humphries

Hi Julie, Not all of these names ( the males I mean) are high school people - some are Tech School people from the 1959 - 62 era - Rod Hawken, Brian Bourke, Tevor French, Barry Fisher, Ray Garland, Wayne Cooper and a few others (I guess) went to YTC with me. I guess this list means the people that were in either school in that era - apart from the girls (pity there werent any at YTC)

Hi Julie, thats odd then as Rod Hawken and I were best friends and neighbours and we both started at Yyallourn Tech(in newborough) the same day and travelled each day on the same bus. Brian Bourke and I sat next to each other in Form 1 . We started in 1959, Wayne Cooper was also in the same Form and travelled with us - along with Brian Downs. Barry Fisher and Trevor French were in the same Sports House as me , but I cant guarantee that they started in 1959, although I would almost be prepared to bet on it. Its Ok though - not a problem - its just great to see all these familiar faces beaming out of the photos. It takes a while, but slowly the recognition kicks in

Well...ain't that

Well...ain't that interesting...cos we've never had lists of Tech guys. Perhaps they switched to High School from Tech in later years, in which case they'd be recorded as a commencing in 1959, even though they joined in perhaps Form 3 or 4? I don't know...I just know we only have the High School records. 'Tis a mystery!

If the guy next to Linton

If the guy next to Linton Planner is ? Hutchinson, his name was Ken. My understanding is that his father was "Snake" Hutchinson a maths/ science (?) teacher at YHS- only the distant memory of a Tech School person though. His brother Neils used to be in the swimming club with myself and a pile of others. Neils did the art work on one of the Sky Hooks albums.
