I am trying to contact Mavis
I am trying to contact Mavis Cook (married to Bill) who has a connection to James Heny Catterick born 1894 Hartlepool, Co. Durham, England who emigrated to Australia in 1922. My mother corresponded with Jim, Betty and family in the 1960s and I THINK there is a connection between Mavis and Bill Cook and James Henry Catterick. If this is successful I would be grateful if the Cook family could get in touch. Thank you, Ena Knox

Hi Ena, My name is Doug Pavitt and I married Janet in 1963, we have just got back from a 5 month caravan trip to Darwin, then home via Perth, yes their is a connection, Mavis was James Henry Cattericks niece. Not sure if you know, but Bill died in 1992 and Mavis died in 2003. Hope this is what you need. Regards Doug Pavitt.

Hello Doug, I am sorry that
Hello Doug,
I am sorry that it is a long time since I have been in touch. (You brought me up to date re Mavis and Bill Cook family). Thanks to your help I was in contact with Elaine Boyes who gave me some information re Catterick family tree. However I haven’t heard from her for a couple of years and wondered if everything was OK. I must admit that the last four years were taken up with my mother-in-law who had dementia. She died last July aged 94 so I am now trying to pick up where I left off on the tree. The last time we were in contact I think you said you had been away on a five month trip in your caravan.
If any of your family is interested in the family tree I have traced the family of Mavis Hall (born 1914, Seaton Delaval, Northumberland) back to 1855 in Northumberland, England and the Catterick family back to 1755.My e-mail address is mew1948@yahoo.co.uk
Thank you for all the help you gave,
Regards,
Ena Knox
